Privacy Policy
This notice discloses the privacy policy for eCode DART tool and applies to information collected on the eCode DART website (www.ecodedart.com) and mobile app. More specifically, this notice addresses the following issues:
The personally identifiable information (PII) that may be collected from users through the eCode DART website and app, and how it is used;
The choices that are available to users regarding the use and sharing of user data; and The security procedures in place to protect the misuse of user information.
Information Collection and Use
The use of the eCode DART tool in general, and use of any specific features of the website and app, is completely optional. Users are not required to use eCode DART app to use the eCode DART web account. eCode DART app users are solely responsible for the information that they collect using the tool.
The information that can be collected using eCode DART is based on testing associated with International Energy Conservation Code IECC. Additionally, users have the option to use eCode DART to collect:
- Home address. Alternatively, users may choose to use an anonymized manual identifier.
- Comments about a home. Alternatively, users may elect not to add comments.
- Photos to accompany comments. eCode DART does not require photos to make notes and comments.
- Inspection Geo-Tagging. The eCode DART mobile app requests system permission to record users’ location while performing inspections. The geo-tagged inspection locations are included in the photo capture meta data, and printed on the face of photos viewable from the mobile app. Users may decline location tracking by rejecting the system pop-up request during the first use or by turning off location access in Settings > Privacy > Location Services.
- eCode DART may access information collected in eCode DART solely for the following purposes:
- Technical Support Requests – With eCode DART users’ express written or verbal permission, eCode DART technical support contractor may temporarily access collected information solely for diagnostic purposes to resolve a user’s support request.
- Ongoing System Development – eCode DART technical support contractor may temporarily access stored information during the normal course of system development and maintenance.
- Anonymized Usage Statistics –eCode DART technical support contractor may generate anonymized usage statistics, which will not identify any specific eCode DART users or homes, to maintain and improve the tool.
- eCode DART and its technical support contractor, will NOT:
- Access any information collected using eCode DART beyond the time necessary to perform the specific task related to the purposes listed above.
- Create any new databases featuring information collected using eCode DART.
- Share any information collected using eCode DART with any other parties, unless required by law.
Information Control and Sharing
eCode DART offers two ways to share information. Use of either feature is entirely optional.
- Sharing Information– A user may choose to share a home’s records and data using the website “Detailed Report”. However, eCode DART will not share this information without the account users knowledge and consent.
- Sharing Information via Reports – Users may choose to share home information with third parties using one of eCode DART reports, such as the Insulation and Air Barriers report. In this case, eCode DART will generate a PDF report which can then be sent to a third party via e-mail, text message, or other communication system.
- Each authorized user in an organization can view, edit, and delete information collected within eCode DART by that organization’s own users. An eCode DART user may delete any data associated with a home, or overwrite the home with replacement data. The newly created property itself can only be deleted on request by emailing support@ecodedart.com.
Account Deletion
Ecode users can request to delete their account and all information by emailing support@ecodedart.com. The account deletion terms can be found at www.ecodedart.com/delete
- Account Deletion means "delete all content immediately and forever" by having user type the word delete to confirm.
- Before users delete their account, they can download an archive for any properties they wish to save and download a detailed report of property details and tested values.
- Documents associated with all Builder will be "immediately and permanently deleted.
- All text notes associated with tests, properties, and builders will be permanently and immediately lost.
Security
The security of user information is of critical importance to the eCode DART. We have designed eCode DARTwith the following security features:
- Secure, Password Protected Access – Upon registration, users establish a unique username and password. Users may their change username and password at any point on the “Users” page.
- Secure Communications – All data communicated over the web are secured by Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption to protect data transmissions. No information is transferred openly over the web.
- Secure Servers – All information collected within eCode DART is stored and maintained on commercial servers that use industry-standard security protocols. No information collected using eCode DART is stored on eCode DART equipment.
- While eCode DART has taken steps to ensure the security and stability of eCode DART, there is a possibility of data loss and/or system downtime. eCode DART shall not be liable for any loss of data, loss of profits, loss of business, loss of use or any other economic loss.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
eCode DART reserves the right to change our policies regarding the privacy of your information in the future. If that happens, we will endeavor to promptly update this Privacy Policy and provide a message to eCode DART users.
